Lyricist - Vinayak Sasikumar

Vinayak Sasikumar (born 13 June 1994) is an Indian lyricist, best known for his compositions in Malayalam cinema, with films such as Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, North 24 Kaatham, 7th Day (film), and Sapthamashree Thaskaraha.

He was born in Trivandrum, Kerala to S Sasikumar and Asha Sasikumar. At the age of 12, he started writing poetry. Later, he moved to Chennai and completed his graduation in Economics from Loyola College, Chennai. Currently, he is a post-graduate student of Madras School of Economics.

He made his debut as a lyricist in the movie Kutteem Kolum directed by Guinness Pakru. Later in the year 2013, he wrote songs for the movie Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi. This movie, directed by Sameer Thahir, was the first road movie made in India. The songs, composed by Rex Vijayan, went on to become top hits and has a cult following among a section of Keralites. In 2013, he worked for the movie North 24 Kaatham, directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon. The movie went on to receive the National Award for the best feature film in Malayalam and the Kerala State Award for the second best feature film. In 2014, he wrote songs for the movie 7th Day, directed by Syamdhar and written by Akhil Paul. The movie went on to become the biggest hit in the box office in the summer. His next movie was Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, which released in September 2014. The movie directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, was both critically and commercially acclaimed upon release.
